Terms & Conditions

TrueShot Gunsmithing – Scheduling & Service Terms and Conditions (Consolidated)
Identifying Information & Definitions

Service Provider (“TrueShot,” “we,” “us,” “our”): TrueShot Gunsmithing LLC, located at 15051 Wade Ave., Tehachapi, CA 93561.
Federal Firearms License (FFL): Type 01 (Dealer/Gunsmith).
FFL Number (masked): 9-77-xxx-xx-xx-07577

Customer (“you,” “your”): The individual submitting this scheduling form and/or dropping off or shipping any firearm/property to TrueShot.

Firearm/Property: Any firearm and any other item(s) left with TrueShot for inspection, service, customization, restoration, storage, shipment, or return (including parts and accessories).

Work Order: The written intake/service record created at check-in (in-person or upon receipt of shipped items) describing the requested work and customer information.

Governing Terms: These Terms and Conditions govern all appointments, work orders, and services performed by TrueShot unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Work Order Priority and Time Estimates

Work is generally performed in the order received based on check-in date. However, TrueShot Gunsmithing may, at its discretion, complete smaller or quicker jobs sooner due to scheduling efficiency, staffing, or workflow considerations.

Queue Time (Start of Work): “Queue Time” is the estimated time from check-in to when TrueShot Gunsmithing begins active labor on your job. Typical Queue Time is 3–6 weeks from check-in.

Completion Time (Turnaround): “Completion Time” is the estimated time from check-in to completion of the requested work. Typical Completion Time is 8–12 weeks from check-in.

Important Note on Estimates: Queue Time and Completion Time are estimates, not guarantees. Depending on workload, parts availability, and customer response/approval times, these timelines may overlap (resulting in faster completion) or may be significantly shorter or longer.

Appointments, Late Arrival, and Missed Appointments

Late Arrival: Appointments are reserved for a specific time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may be rescheduled or declined, at TrueShot Gunsmithing’s discretion, to avoid disrupting other customers and workflow.

Missed Appointments / Cancellations: We understand that schedules change. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may, at TrueShot Gunsmithing’s discretion, result in limited future scheduling availability, rescheduling only with approval, or a required deposit to hold a future appointment.

Contact Information / Notice

You are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate, current contact information and must notify TrueShot Gunsmithing of any changes to your phone number, email address, or mailing address. Any notice or communication sent to the most recent contact information you provided will be considered delivered, whether or not you actually receive it.

Estimates and Additional Work Authorization

Estimates are based on the information available at check-in and may change after inspection, disassembly, or test fitting. If additional issues are discovered or additional work is recommended, TrueShot Gunsmithing will notify you with an updated estimate or options. No additional work beyond the original work order will be performed without your written approval. Written approval may be provided in person or electronically (including email or text message). Phone approval alone is not sufficient.

Special-Order Parts / Outsourced Labor Deposits (Non-Refundable)

If your job requires special-order parts and/or outsourced labor, a deposit will be required before those items/services are ordered or authorized. Deposits are non-refundable and are applied to the final invoice. The deposit amount will be specified in advance and is intended to cover the cost of the special-order parts and/or outsourced services. If you cancel or withdraw the firearm/property after parts are ordered or outsourced work is authorized, you remain responsible for the cost of those items/services and any related fees.

Customer-Supplied Parts

TrueShot Gunsmithing may accept customer-supplied parts at the customer’s request. Customer-supplied parts are not warranted by TrueShot Gunsmithing, and there is no guarantee that customer-supplied parts will function properly, fit correctly, or be compatible with the firearm/property or other components. If fitment/compatibility issues are discovered, additional labor and/or different parts may be required. No additional work will be performed without your written approval (in person, text, or email).

Replaced Parts / Accessories

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, accessories and add-on items (e.g., optics, mounts, stocks, grips, magazines, slings, lights) that are removed during service will be returned by default with the firearm/property. Damaged or replaced parts will be returned only if requested by the customer (preferably at check-in).

Withdrawal Prior to Completion

If you choose to withdraw your firearm/property from service prior to completion, you must provide at least 2 business days’ notice. You are responsible for all work performed to date and for any special-order parts and/or outsourced labor that have been ordered or authorized. Firearms and property will not be released until all amounts due are paid in full.

Completion, Pickup, Storage Fees, and Abandoned Property

“Completion” means the date TrueShot Gunsmithing finishes the requested work and the firearm/property is ready for pickup.

Property not picked up within 30 days after the Completion date will be subject to storage fees of $75 per month, charged in full for each month (or any part of a month) after the initial 30-day period.

If property remains unclaimed for 180 days after the Completion date, it may be considered abandoned. TrueShot Gunsmithing will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer using the contact information provided (which may include phone, email, and certified letter). If the property is not retrieved, TrueShot Gunsmithing may dispose of the property as permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law to recoup unpaid balances, storage fees, and related costs. Firearms will be transferred/disposed of only through lawful methods. If the customer is deceased, an authorized legal representative of the estate must provide any documentation required for release/transfer.

Safety and Refusal of Service

TrueShot Gunsmithing reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for any firearm or request that, in our judgment, is unsafe, unserviceable, or unlawful. If a firearm is found to be unsafe or unserviceable, work may be paused and you will be notified with available options.

Function Testing / Test-Firing

As reasonably necessary to diagnose or verify repairs, TrueShot Gunsmithing may perform function checks and, where appropriate and lawful, test-fire the firearm using suitable ammunition. Any test-firing will be conducted in a safe manner. Ammunition costs (if not customer-supplied) may be added to the final invoice.

Pre-Existing Conditions; Unavoidable Minor Marks; Limitation of Liability

TrueShot Gunsmithing will use reasonable care and workmanship consistent with professional gunsmithing standards and a “do no harm” ethic. However, due to the nature of firearms and firearm parts—especially older, modified, heavily used, corroded, worn, or previously repaired items—disassembly, fitting, and restoration work may involve inherent risk, and minor cosmetic marks or incidental damage can sometimes be unavoidable even when proper care is used.

You acknowledge that firearms and parts may have pre-existing defects (including hidden damage, fatigue, cracks, stripped threads, rust/pitting, out-of-spec tolerances, or prior improper work) that may not be detectable until inspection or disassembly. TrueShot Gunsmithing is not responsible for failure, breakage, or damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, normal wear, prior modifications/repairs, misuse, improper maintenance, or manufacturer defects.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueShot Gunsmithing’s liability for any claim arising out of services performed will be limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, and TrueShot Gunsmithing will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. This limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Ownership, Authority, and Release of Property

You represent that you are the lawful owner of the firearm/property or are authorized by the owner to submit it for service, and that all contact information you provide is accurate and current.

For safety and compliance, only the person who dropped off the firearm/property (as listed on the work order) may pick it up. If that person cannot pick it up, the item may be returned only to the address listed on the signed work order via lawful shipment/return methods, or may be delivered at the owner’s expense, where lawful and available. TrueShot Gunsmithing may require valid identification and may decline any release method that is not permitted by applicable law.

Shipped Firearms (Unloaded Requirement)

Any firearm shipped or delivered to TrueShot Gunsmithing must be unloaded. If a shipped firearm arrives loaded and requires clearing/making safe, a safety/handling fee may apply.

Shipping and Transit Risk

Shipping and Transit Risk: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, shipping carriers are independent third parties, and TrueShot Gunsmithing is not responsible for loss, theft, delay, or damage that occurs before delivery to TrueShot Gunsmithing or after the package is tendered to the carrier for return shipment. Customers are responsible for selecting and paying for shipping service and insurance coverage adequate for the firearm/property’s value, unless shipping is arranged by TrueShot Gunsmithing in writing.

Packaging: Items must be packaged securely to prevent damage in transit. Damage caused by insufficient or improper packaging is the customer’s responsibility.

Inspection on Receipt / Claims: TrueShot Gunsmithing may photograph and document the condition of the package and contents upon arrival and/or prior to shipment. Any visible shipping damage should be reported to the carrier promptly. The customer agrees to cooperate with any carrier claim process as needed (including providing photos, invoices/values, packaging materials, or other documentation).

Phone/Video Consultation Time

Up to 30 minutes of phone or video consultation is included. If a call exceeds 30 minutes, a $30 consultation fee applies. If a call exceeds 60 minutes, a flat $120 consultation fee applies and replaces the $30 fee (fees do not stack). We will notify you when the 30-minute limit is reached and confirm you would like to continue before any fee applies. Consultation fees are billed after the call and are due upon receipt.

Limited Workmanship Warranty (1 Year)

TrueShot Gunsmithing warrants that the workmanship/labor we performed will be free from defects for one (1) year from the Completion date. This warranty applies only to the specific service performed and does not cover: normal wear and tear; corrosion/rust; misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance; damage from firing, high round counts, or continued use after a malfunction; unauthorized modifications or repairs by anyone other than TrueShot Gunsmithing; ammunition or magazine-related issues; customer-supplied parts; manufacturer defects; or any condition not caused by the workmanship of the specific service performed. If a covered workmanship issue is verified, TrueShot Gunsmithing will, at its option, repair or re-perform the covered work. This warranty is limited to workmanship only and does not include refunds, incidental costs, shipping, ammunition, range fees, or consequential damages. Advanced Cleaning is covered under this same one (1) year workmanship warranty.

Governing Law / Venue; Severability

Governing Law / Venue: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any action arising from or related to these terms or services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kern County, California, and the parties consent to that venue and jurisdiction.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
